Can Hypnosis Cure Emetophobia?
Recently I was asked to make a home visit to hypnotise a young woman who has suffered from emetophobia (fear of vomiting -especially in public in this case) for over four years.
It was heart wrenching to hear how she can not leave her house -so can't finish her schooling or get a job.
As she said, it is hard to know she is of the age to go clubbing and make friends, but she can't.
So how did the hypnosis work? She was very sceptical really, in spite of pinning all her hopes on the magic wand of hypnosis. Really, something of this magnitude needs ongoing therapy!
Nevertheless, as a first time session it went quite well. She was able to go into a light trance and found the experience to be positive.
