We have just had an amazing three days in Cartegena which is in the very north
of Colombia on the Caribbean Sea.

It has an old walled city with the most beautiful preserved spanish type houses
which also reminded me of the French Quarter in New Orleans.

It was very hot - 32 degrees plus a sweltering humidity - so sweating was
impossible to avoid.

John and I went scuba diving on a small launch with 3 other tourists and 3 dive
staff and it was absolutely wonderful. I was a bit nervous but the professional
staff did everything to support us and so we had two dives - the first amongst
coral and the second in the midst of a swirling mass of blue fishes being
stalked by bigger fishes being stalked by...
