what really happened to the pUblicist in Sao Paulo
Just for the record
When John and I stumbled from our 22 hour flight to Sao Paulo we were so
relieved to be collected by our publicist.
We walked out to the carpark to find that she couldnt remember where she had
parked her car. She was still in shock from being held up on the road on the
way to the airport. She had pulled up at the lights and a guy smashed her
window in and demanded money.
She took a risk and put her foot down and got away. The she had to go home and
change over cars to come and get us.
We were pretty worried when she left us in the carpark to find her car.
Standing there with all our worldy goods in the dark...
What was more alarming was to find out that the very same thing had happened to
her only a month ago and on the same road!
She had her decoy purse stolen. They have a little money in a decoy purse
always on hand so the robber, needing to flee on foot, will accept and run off.
Even her little 3 year old boy knows this - he said Mummy has a thiefs purse.
So John and I have taken heed and as my dear friend Vanessa says-
When in Do as
and we have our own decoy stash - lets hope we never have to use it.
